Here’s a chronicling of events in Monroe this weekend

The Wolfe's Den playground at Wolfe Park will be completed Sunday with installation of a zip line. An Arbor Day tree planting ceremony will be held nearby.

Friday, April 28: The daVinci Festival, an art show featuring the works of students in grades k-12 at Masuk High School, 1014 Monroe Turnpike, 3 to 7 p.m.

Saturday, April 30: The Monroe Lions Club will host a Paper Shredding fundraiser in the Rite Aid pharmacy parking lot, 435 Main St., from 9 a.m. until noon, rain or shine.

Kids Walk benefitting the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center at Great Hollow Lake Pavilion in Monroe, at 10 a.m. The event is sponsored by American Legion District 3.

Your CBD Store Monroe, 574 Monroe Turnpike, is hosting its Second Anniversary Celebration with refreshments and vendors featuring CycleBar, there will be a prize wheel and gift baskets, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ribbon cutting at World Taekwondo, 535 Monroe Turnpike, at noon.

Saturday, April 29: The daVinci Festival, an art show featuring the works of students in grades k-12 at Masuk High School, 1014 Monroe Turnpike, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

An Arbor Day Tree Planting at the Wolfe’s Den playground at Wolfe Park, 11:30 a.m. Girl Scout Troop 34001 and town officials will participate in the ceremony.

The Wolfe’s Den playground will also be completed that day with installation of a zip line that was on back order.

Wednesday, May 3: The Monroe Lions Club is hosting a Spring Blood Drive at Monroe Congregational Church, 34 Church St., from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Be sure to eat a good breakfast before donating.
