MONROE, CT — Customers dealing with lost power as Tropical Storm Isaias hit the region felt the added frustration of not being able to report the outages to Eversource Energy. But a spokesman for the power company says the problem has since been fixed.
Mitch Gross said customers can call 1-800-286-2000 or send an email to [email protected] to report outages.
In an update at 7:30 p.m., First Selectman Ken Kellogg said there were 5,436 outages in Monroe — approximately 68 percent of the town. He said there are 66 separate power outage “events” in town, adding Eversource will prioritize events affecting the largest number of customers.
“Eversource is still evaluating widespread damage statewide that has resulted in over 400,000 outages in Connecticut,” he said. “While we have not yet been provided with any restoration times, we would not expect complete restoration until later in the week.”
Strong winds from the storm felled trees and wires throughout the town. Kellogg said police, firefighters, the Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service and public works crews continue to respond to numerous incidents as calls are reported.
“Town crews are clearing roadways where possible,” he said. “If power lines are involved, Eversource must first make the area safe prior to tree and branch removals. The town has provided Eversource with a listing of blocked roadways and identified priority issues such as roads that are currently impassable.”
The first selectman included contact information for reporting issues and concerns:
-
- Emergency Only: 911
- Non-emergency storm-related issues: 203-261-3622
- Eversource – Power Outage: 800-286-2000
- Eversource – Natural Gas Issues: 877-944-5325
- Aquarion Issues: 800-732-9678

- Frontier Outages: 800-921-8101
When will service be put back on at 6 Twin Maple Dr Bethel
Hi Ariene, I haven’t seen any time estimates for restoration, but will try to find out all I can today. Hope you get your power back soon!
Any time frame for restoration of power at 401 Shewville Rd in Ledyard?
No, sorry. No time frames at all yet.
Why did we loose power at 130 pastors walk Monroe ct when we had power all day yesterday and today and then it went out at 4 pm today which makes no sense
Hi Ashley, the first selectman said Eversource sometimes had to turn off power to clear away debris from a power line or to make other repairs. During the day yesterday, 68% of Monroe was out, then it rose to 77 percent later on.
Why is there not a sign of even 1 Eversource work vehicle anywhere in Greenwich??
I only cover Monroe, but definitely understand your frustration. The power company says the damage is comparable to Super Storm Sandy, so a lot of clean up has to be done in some areas before restoration can even begin.
Time restoration moosup,ct.
The power company hasn’t released any time estimates yet. I probably know about Moosup when they do.
When can we expect power in Danbury…Abbey woods complex?
My mom lives on Highland Dr in Monroe and lives in an adult community. Without stating her age, there are a few people on oxygen. Any idea how soon this area will have power?
Eversource is supposed to release something later today estimating when most of the state will get power back, but nothing has been released up to now. I’d write a story right away if I knew when the power would be back.
