Early voting begins in Connecticut today

MONROE, CT — Early voting for the Presidential Election and state races has begun at Monroe Town Hall and in the rest of the state today (Monday). Below are the names of candidates in the races taken from a sample ballot, as well as a question on absentee voting.

Voting information is included after the ballot information.

Presidential Tickets (Vote for One): Republicans Trump and Vance, Democrats Harris and Walz, Green Party Stein and Ware, Libertarian Party Oliver and Ter Matt or petitioning candidates Kennedy Jr. and Shanahan.

U.S. Senator (Vote for One): Christopher S. Murphy (D and Working Families), Matthew M. Corey (R), Justin C. Paglino (Green Party) or Robert Finley Hyde (Cheaper Gas Groceries Party).

U.S. Representative for Congress (Vote for One): Jim Himes (D), Michael Goldstein (R) or Benjamin Wesley (Independent).

State Senator 21st District: (Vote for One): Kevin Kelly (R) unopposed.

State Senator 22nd District: (Vote for One): Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox (D), Chris Carrena (R) or Robert Edward Halstead (I).

State Representative 112th District (Vote for One): Beth Cliff (D, Working Families, Independent Party) or Tony Scott (R).

Registrars of Voters (Vote for One): Kate Briggs (D) or Debra Dutches (R).

Ballot Question: Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?

Voting Information

Though Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, early voting, which begins Oct. 21, is also an option.

Polls at all four polling places in Monroe will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 5:

  • District 1: Fawn Hollow Elementary School, 345 Fan Hill Road
  • District 2: Stepney Elementary School, 180 Old Newtown Road
  • District 3: Monroe Elementary School, 375 Monroe Turnpike
  • District 4: Masuk High School, 1014 Monroe Turnpike

Early Voting

Early voting is new this year and will be available in person at Monroe Town Hall, 7 Fan Hill Road on the following dates:

  • Oct. 21 – 28, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Oct. 29 and 31, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Oct. 30, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Nov. 1 – 3, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Same Day Voter Registration

Those who are not registered, but want to vote during the Early Voting period, may register and vote in person on any of the days of Early Voting at the Early Voting location.

Those who are not registered, but want to vote on Election Day, may register and vote in person on Election Day at the Election Day Registration site at Town Hall.
