Residents will participate in the Democratic and Republican presidential primaries on April 28, but only members of these political parties will have the right to cast their votes in their party’s primary.
If you are a member of another party, such as an Independent or Green Party, and want to switch to Democratic or Republican, you must do so by Jan. 28, according to the Monroe Registrars of Voters Office.
You may check your party affiliation online by going to sots.ct.gov, then click on “Elections & Voting,” and “Am I Registered to Vote?” If you are “Unaffiliated,” you may switch to a party online or by mail no later than April 23 or in person by 12 noon on April 27.
