MONROE, CT — Distribution of free COVID-19 test kits, initially planned for Thursday afternoon at Jockey Hollow Middle School, has been postponed.
“We were notified overnight that the kits did not yet arrive in Connecticut and that distribution today is not possible,” First Selectman Ken Kellogg said. “We will announce a rescheduled distribution date once we receive more information from the State.”
The town was going to distribute the free test kits on a first-come-first-served basis from 2 to 6 p.m. with a drive-through pickup. However, through a statewide call with the Governor’s Office Wednesday evening, local leaders learned Connecticut’s shipment of test kits had not yet left California.
