What makes you a great candidate for Town Council?
I have been a resident of Monroe for 42 years. Not long enough to be a lifetime resident, but I have seen many changes to this once sleepy, mostly farm community. I have been a committed community member.
It is time for change. It is time to hear what our residents have to say, their vision, their needs, their complaints and, hopefully, their compliments.
I bring years of experience hearing both sides of a position or concern and finding common ground. Understanding the needs that drive the concerns is paramount, a skill I have honed in my many years of legal practice.
Looking at the long term impacts of our decisions is vital to the economic health of a community. I am a creative problem solver. Sometimes the first solution that comes to mind is not best solution. A moment of thought is infinitely better than years of regret.
Communication is critical and we can restore confidence in our government. We can revitalize our town infrastructure, planning and vision for the future, while building an environment that cares about and supports local business owners as well as the long term business environment. The impacts that our decisions have on individual tax burdens, especially for those on a fixed incomes, must be considered and weighed.
As a Town Council member, I will work collaboratively to find solutions to our most pressing issues.
