MONROE, CT — A Bridgeport man was charged with DUI following a traffic stop on Route 25 (Main Street), near the Newtown line, Saturday night.
Carlos Munoz, 37, of 397 Poplar St., was charged with traveling under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, failure to drive in the proper lane and operating a motor vehicle without a license. He was released on $500 bond for a Feb. 16 court date.
At approximately 9:07 p.m., police received a call about an erratic vehicle heading south on Main Street.
An officer caught up with the Frontier pickup truck and drove behind it. Police said the truck left the travel lane and crossed into the left lane, before swerving back.
After stopping the truck, police said the officer observed that the driver, Munoz, had bloodshot, glossy eyes and appeared to be confused as to where he was. Police said he admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages.
Field sobriety tests were not performed to standard leading to his arrest, according to the report.
