United Methodist Church of Monroe

Breakfast with Santa, Dec. 14, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Children younger than age 12 eat for eight dollars, older children and adults eat for $10. Reservations can be made online or by calling the church office, 203-268-8395 and giving your name, phone number, email address and the number of adults and children attending. The deadline is Friday, Dec. 6.
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church

St. Peter’s Holly Fair, Saturday, Dec. 7, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event includes a luncheon with sandwiches, soup, chips, hot and cold drinks; a cookie walk, a cake walk and Grandma’s Attic, selling Christmas and gently used items. Vendors will be selling toys and jewelry. All proceeds help the ministry of the Episcopal Church Women.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Second Annual Festival of Trees, Sunday, Dec. 8, 1 – 5 p.m.
A charitable event in which artificial Christmas trees and wreaths are decorated by individuals, groups, or businesses. The trees and wreaths each have a theme. Attendees can purchase raffle tickets for the canister of the tree or wreath they desire for a chance to win the tree or wreath — decorations and all.
This event will offer refreshments, a small gift shop table, crafts for children, a mini-concert, storytelling, gently used books for sale, and an appearance by Santa Claus. The Good Shepherd Quilters will create a holiday quilt to be raffled off.
The church will have a donation box for new toys for the Salvation Army.
