MONROE, CT — Jace McGee stole home on a passed ball, scoring the winning run as Berchem Moses nipped Wells Fargo Associates 7-6 in Monroe Little League AAA action.
The play capped off a late game comeback by Berchem Moses. Coach Brian Hourigan’s team trailed Wells Fargo 6-3 in the bottom of sixth, before rallying for four runs, including McGee’s stealing of home, for the walk off win.
McGee had a stellar day at the plate, hitting a double and two singles, while scoring two runs and driving another in. He also pitched one-and-a-third innings, overpowering batters with three strikeouts.
Jack Garafolo also had an outstanding performance for Berchem Moses, cracking a game tying RBI single in the bottom of the sixth and earning the win on the mound — pitching one inning and striking out three batters.
