A driver died from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle-crash, after the vehicle collided with a bridge abutment on Monroe Turnpike, near Route 34 Wednesday morning.
Route 111 is closed from Old Zoar Road and Cottage Street to Route 34, as police investigate the accident. The Monroe Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team is working the scene with assistance from the Fairfield Police Department.
Firefighters and Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service personnel also responded to the call.
