Sen. Gadkar-Wilcox to lead presentation on Constitution at Edith Wheeler Memorial Library

State Sen. Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox represents Monroe, Trumbull and Bridgeport.

MONROE, Conn. — State Sen. Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox, the legislature’s deputy majority leader, will lead a presentation on Democracy and the Constitution in the Ehler’s Room of Edith Wheeler Memorial Library, 733 Monroe Turnpike, on Thursday, March 12, from 7 to 8 p.m.

Members of the public are welcome join in the conversation of how the U.S. Constitution has balanced power and has promoted the public interest since its founding. Gadkar-Wilcox will address the following questions and more:

  • What conversations should we be having right now about our most fundamental constitutional principles?
  • How will the current interpretations of this founding document impact how our government functions well into the future?
  • What aspects of the founders vision of government have been strained over time, especially in recent years, and how we can respond to protect our constitutional republic and to help ensure a meaningful democracy?
