MONROE, Conn. — The town of Monroe has a message on its homepage with information on holiday closings for Christmas and New Year’s, which can all be found below.
Monroe Town Hall Offices, the Senior Center, Edith Wheeler Memorial Library and the Food Pantry will be closed on the following dates and times for the Christmas holiday:
- Wednesday, Dec. 24, closing at 1:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Dec. 25, closed
- Friday, Dec. 26, closed
- The Library will be open Saturday, Dec. 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Normal business hours will resume on Monday, Dec. 29.

- Thursday, Jan. 1, closed
Normal business hours will resume on Friday, Jan. 2.
Highway Department, Landfill, transfer station, trash & recycling pickups
The Monroe Highway Department will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25, in observance of Christmas and will resume normal business hours on Friday, Dec. 26.
The Garder Road Landfill and the Spring Hill Road Transfer Station will be open on Saturday, Dec. 27.
Thursday trash and recycling pickups will be delayed one day the week of Christmas and New Year’s.
