WATERBURY, Conn. — No. 2 Masuk High’s girls soccer defeated No. 6 Rocky Hill 2-1 in double overtime of the Class L State Tournament semifinal game at the Municipal Stadium Complex Wednesday to advance to the championship game.
Ella McGee scored both Panther goals. She netted one on a penalty kick 10 minutes into the second half for a 1-0 lead. After Rocky Hill scored to force OT, the teams battled through one scoreless 10-minute extra session before McGee struck again. Tiny Fabryk set up the decisive goal with four minutes left.
Masuk will take on No. 5 North Haven in the championship game Saturday or Sunday (time to be determined). North Haven knocked off top seed East Catholic 2-1 (3-2 in penalty kicks) in the other semifinal.
