BETHEL, CT — Masuk High’s runners took on the rest of the South-West Conference in Wednesday’s SWC Championship race at Bethel High. The Masuk girls placed eighth; Pomperaug was first. Masuk’s boys were ninth; Newtown won the meet.
The Masuk girls were led by Abigail Cappola in 27th place with a time of 23:30.2. Emma Sheppard placed 30th in 23:32.2, Kathryn Majersky was 35th in 24:06.1, Nikol Kupieieva came in 59th crossing the finish in 26:14.1 and Allison Benedetto came in 61st in 26:33.5.
New Fairfield’s Katie McMorrow won the race in 19:15.7.
In the boys race, Sebastian Riera led the way in 15th with a time of 17:47.8, Brayden Hershberger was 26th in 18:24.5, Filip Wadelkowski came in 42nd in 19:13.4, Dylan McKellick placed 62nd with a time of 20:21.3 and Nicholas Jackson was 73rd in 20:57.7.
Brookfield’s Landon Wall won the race in 16:43.6.
