Leon Ambrosey has the ‘best interests of the taxpayer in mind’

To the Editor:

I would like to relate my personal experiences with Mr. Leon Ambrosy. Having served as the zoning officer for over a decade in Monroe, I had the opportunity to interact and observe Leon on many occasions.

Initially my impression was that he was just a contrarian, but I soon realized his method of operation was to ask pertinent and sometimes uncomfortable questions.

Being a skeptic myself, as time went on I discovered that Leon analyzed and verified the information presented before making a decision, even if he stood alone in the outcome. Definitely not a rubber stamp kind of guy.

He is someone with deep roots in town, a local business owner for decades and someone who has a sincere interest in local sensible and sustainable development.

Looking at him as a real boots on the ground business owner, I’m not surprised he is running for first selectman.

I would urge Monroe voters to seriously consider Mr. Ambrosy regardless of their party affiliation. Isn’t the goal to have someone in office who has the best interests of the taxpayer in mind when making decisions?
