MONROE, CT — What a spring it has been for the Masuk High girls golf team. The Panthers were unbeaten at 14-0 and now get ready to tee off in the South-West Conference Championships at Shelton’s Brownson Country Club on Tuesday, May 27, beginning at 9 a.m.
The Panthers have battled both the competition and the elements, including winning on a messy, rainy day at Pomperaug of Southbury on May 5.
The season concluded with a pair of home course victories at Whitney Farms Country Club — 188 to 300 over Stratford on Monday, May 29, and 169 to 200 over Brookfield two days later.
Alex Cecchino earned medalist accolades in the win over Stratford carding a 41. Adriana Lupo shot a 46, Abby Yeager 54, Jocelyn Allen 49 and Emma McIntyre 52.
In the win over Brookfield it was Lupo taking medalist honors with a 39. Cecchino logged a 40, Yeager 43, Allen 47 and McIntyre 58.
