MONROE, CT — Riding a six-game winning streak to close out the regular slate, the Masuk High baseball team looks to keep its momentum going in the postseason.

The playoffs get underway Saturday, May 24, when No. 6 New Milford visits the No. 3 Panthers for a 1 p.m. match up in the SWC Tournament quarterfinals.

Masuk beat visiting Joel Barlow 7-5 on Saturday and blanked Immaculate 3-0 at Rogers Park in Danbury on Monday night.

The Panthers scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to overcome a 5-2 deficit against Barlow.

In the win over Barlow, Jackson Zylick had two hits and three runs batted in. Steven Curtin had three hits and an RBI. Chris Welch added a hit and an RBI and Matt Falcone also drove in a run.

Jacob Mondo and Stephen Curtin pitched well, Drew O’Hara earned the win with a scoreless inning of relief and Justin Fanning earned the save pitching a scoreless seventh inning, striking out two.
