Four hat-tricks lift Masuk lacrosse team into SWC semis

MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s girls lacrosse team got three-goal efforts from four players to spark a 14-4 win over visiting Joel Barlow of Redding in the SWC Tournament quarterfinals at home Tuesday night.

Charlotte Pinto, Emma Troesser, Molly Kinahan and Bailey Bajda all scored hat-tricks. Ella Sancimino and Eve Fernandez also scored.

Troesser had two assists and Devon Kreiner also set up a net-finder.

Maddy Farrer had seven saves and Parker Connolly entered the game and made a save.

Kira Rescsanski had four ground ball scoops and led the team’s transition game to help generate offense. She was named the team’s player of the game.

Masuk will host No. 3 Newtown in the semifinals set for Thursday, May 22, at 5 p.m. (subject to change).
