MONROE, CT — Masuk High School recently announced the Class of 2025’s valedictorian, Rayhaan Shaik, and salutatorian, Siobhan Riordan.
Shaik is a student who has consistently pushed his boundaries both inside and outside the classroom. He has made the most of his high school journey — tackling rigorous academics, embracing leadership roles, and committing himself to service.
Throughout his time at Masuk, Shaik has excelled in AP and honors courses, while actively participating in a broad range of extracurriculars. From VEX Robotics to Varsity Tennis, from the Chess Club to the Math and Coding Teams, he seized every opportunity to learn, grow and lead. Shaik serves as co-vice president of the Math Team, co-president of the Coding Team, president of the Chess Club, and a member of the Robotics Leadership Council.
His academic accolades include membership in the National Honor Society, where he is treasurer; Mu Alpha Theta, the Science National Honor Society, and the World Language Honor Society.

Equally impressive is Shaik’s commitment to giving back. As a founding member of Masuk’s Community Crew, he developed a website to connect students with volunteer opportunities, partnered with more than 10 local organizations, helped organize over 15 events, and facilitated more than 100 hours of service by his peers.
His leadership has empowered over 50 students to get involved in meaningful ways. He has also served as a VEX Robotics Camp Counselor, mentoring younger students in engineering and STEM.
When asked what he will miss most about Masuk, Shaik reflected on the camaraderie he built through robotics, tennis, and the shared experiences of challenging academic courses —especially AP Calculus. He values the friendships, teamwork, and collaborative spirit that defined his time as a Panther.
Shaik plans to attend the University of Connecticut to study electrical engineering, with aspirations of using his passion and skills to make a meaningful difference in the world.
Masuk High School congratulates Rayhaan Shaik on this well-deserved honor. His pursuit of excellence, strong moral character and commitment to serving others exemplify the very best of Masuk.

When asked what she’ll miss most about Masuk, Riordan reflected on the friendships she’s built with classmates and teammates, the support of her teachers, and — of course — the cafeteria cookies.
In the fall, she will attend Princeton University, where she plans to study Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and continue pursuing her passion for innovation and service.
