Marc Mercier, longtime resident of Monroe, passed away on November 23, 2024. He was 49-years-old.
Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of Normand Mercier and Gail Mercier. He attended Norwalk Community College. He was self-employed as a home improvement contractor.
Marc loved all types of sports. He was an avid baseball player from a young age and continued into adulthood playing as #4 on the softball team “Dem Boyz”. He was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Mets.
Marc had a radiant personality, so full of life and love. He truly cared for everyone who had the privilege of being in his life. A definite people-person with many friends. He was the life of the party and would brighten up the room with his presence, beautiful smile, funny jokes and genuine conversation. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Marc is survived by his son Griffin Mercier, his father Normand Mercier, sister Dawn Markut (Frank), brothers Dennis and Kevin Cortina, Bill Mercier (Sandra) and sister Jill Patrick and several nieces and nephews.
Marc had many close relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving Mother Gail Reardon Mercier.
Friends are invited to calling hours Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe.
Funeral Service to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2024, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown. Private interment to be determined at a later date.
