Help Wanted: Masuk High School athletic trainer

Monroe Public Schools has an opening for an athletic trainer at Masuk High School. Those interested in applying can view the details below:

Job Title: Athletic trainer

Salary: $80,000

Position Purpose/Goal:

The athletic trainer provides for the safety, health and well-being of the student athletes of Masuk High School through the care and prevention of athletic injuries.

Additionally, the athletic trainer develops an educational sports medicine program inclusive of injury prevention, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment, and rehabilitation for all student athletes.

Terms of Employment:

The work year typically begins on the first day of the CIAC fall schedule (fall sports tryouts typically start on or about Aug. 15) through the final day of the CIAC spring schedule as dictated by the athletic director.

This position is responsible for providing athletic trainer coverage for high school athletic programs in both practice and interscholastic competition settings (30-40 hours per week). Work during the summer may be necessary and would be compensated at an hourly rate (to be paid separately).

This is an unaffiliated position.

  1. Interesting. Is this the same position that’s been open for a while? Or an additional trainer?

    Why is it taking so long to backfill this position? Do the athletes at least have someone qualified monitoring injuries and safety protocols? It was bad enough before with just one trainer for ALL of the teams. If my kids were still student athletes at Masuk, I’d be pretty concerned.
