MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s field hockey team features a young lineup as the Panthers rebuild this fall.
Masuk opened the season with a 4-0 loss at Watertown on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Freshman goalie Charley Keppler had eight saves. Captain Grace Walker put three shots on goal and Junior Emma Troesser had six attempts on goal.
Ava Moretti played a strong game at the center defense position, helping to guide Masuk’s young defensive unit.
Among Masuk’s 24 players, 15 are new to high school.
“With a majority of freshman, we look to improve as the season progresses,” Coach Laura Lawlor said.
Masuk visits Joel Barlow of Redding Thursday, Sept. 5, at 5:30 p.m. and has its home opener the next night as Shelton visits for a Friday, Sept. 6, contest at 7 p.m.
