Monroe Senior Center’s Dog Days of Summer stars K9 Riggs

Monroe Police K9 Riggs works for a tennis ball, which is his reward for performing tasks such as tracking down missing persons, finding evidence and taking down a fleeing suspect.

MONROE, CT — K9 Officer Michael DeCarli put his dog, Riggs, to work on the lawn of the Monroe Senior Center on a sunny Friday morning. Center patrons marveled at Riggs’ sense of smell as he tracked down items DeCarli hid and cheered when the K9 chased down a fleeing suspect, who was actually Westport Police Cpl. David Scinto wearing a protective sleeve.

Roy Nealon and Dennis Cassia cooked hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill for lunch after the show.
