Lexia Goldberg Friedman, 15, a Masuk High School student, is a fashion model from New York, whose first modeling gig was for Baby Gap Asia when she was only six-months-old and, since she was 11, she has walked the runway for New York Fashion Week, one of the biggest fashion shows in the world, averaging more than 230,000 attendants throughout the week.
After taking a break for a while, she decided to get back into it after looking at some of her old modeling photos. Since then, Lexia has been in multiple commercials, including one for Chase Bank.
“I don’t think I’ve truly appreciated it before a year or two ago,” Lexia said. “At 11 I didn’t really know how special it is, but now I’m so excited for these opportunities.”
In the industry, Friedman goes by the name Lexia Hayden. Aside from modeling, she has built a commanding social media presence. Lexia’s mother had decided to open an Instagram account for her and Lexia’s page quickly grew to 500,000 followers, enabling her to work with many more brands, she said.
Lexia has walked for luxury couture brands like Cabriolle and other brands, including H&M. For the past two years, she has been modeling for Shein.
She said modeling for companies online also helped to grow her Instagram following, because she gets their audience and they get hers.
One of her upcoming collaborations is modeling for another couture brand called Elena Collection. They will shoot in Central Park. Lexia said she loves the city and is very excited to model there. Recently she was on a billboard in Times Square and said it felt “like a dream come true.”
Lexia hopes to model for other brands in the future including Nike, Lululemon, and American Eagle. “The endless opportunities inspire me to keep modeling, because your dreams are closer than you think,” she said.
Lexia has family members in the industry too, including her mother, who has acted on TV and on stage and her brother Chase, who has modeled as well.
