Police: Juvenile driver crashes into tree on Bug Hill Road, flees on foot

MONROE, CT — A driver allegedly struck a tree in someone’s front yard with a Honda Accord after losing control of his vehicle on Bug Hill Road early Monday morning, according to police.

Police said a witness saw two male juveniles running from the vehicle in the direction of Cutlers Farm Road around 3:13 a.m.

Officers responding to the crash found the youths, who were not injured, police said.

The driver, who lives in Monroe, was issued a juvenile summons for operating without a license, evading responsibility and failure to maintain the proper lane.

He is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in Bridgeport on June 7.

Theft on Walnut Street

A $600 truck bed cover was reported stolen off a Chevrolet Silverado on Walnut Street Saturday.

Police said it was taken sometime between 7 p.m. on Friday and 12:05 a.m. Saturday.

    • Where was there a loaded gun? There was no gun anywhere near this crash. You have the wrong article

      • I originally forgot to check what “Read Next” article would be highlighted and it showed an old story about someone who didn’t secure a handgun that was stolen. I since replace it with something more current.
