Obituary: Bernard A. Prushko Sr. owned and operated Prushko’s Tire Propane Gas in Monroe for 52 years

Bernard A. Prushko Sr.

Bernard A. Prushko Sr., 96, of Shelton, previously of Trumbull, entered into rest on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton.

He was the beloved husband of Julie Ann (Surmaitis) Prushko for 73 years. Bernard was born on June 20, 1924 in Dickson City, PA, son of the late Albina (Axterowicz) and Joseph Prushko.

He served his country with the U.S. Army. Bernard owned and ran Prushko’s Tire Propane Gas in Monroe for 52 years.

He is the beloved father of Bernard Prushko Jr., of Shelton, and grandfather of Danielle Sullivan and her husband Christopher, Kara Lanziero and her husband Matthew, and Scott Prushko. He leaves behind 5 great-grandchildren. Bernard was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Edward, and Donald Prushko.

The John F. Glinsky Funeral Home is entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Dickson City, PA. Online condolences can be sent to johnfglinskyfuneralhome@gmail.com.
