Kellogg: Help me continue to move our town forward

To the Editor:

It continues to be my honor to serve as your First Selectman. The last two years have been incredibly challenging, as we worked together to navigate through a pandemic while still keeping taxes under control, improving Town services, roads, and infrastructure. Furthermore, our grand list continues to grow, fueled by creating a new environment that encourages responsible investment and economic development in our town.

This is only possible with the strength of an entire team. I am incredibly fortunate to have great people, working in collaboration to move our town forward. The team includes our town staff, volunteers, and our elected and appointed officials.

Together, we responded to the pandemic, vaccinating thousands of residents, safely keeping our parks open, and continued to deliver services. We established a new Economic Development Department, while improving the permitting process and our zoning regulations. We are using millions in grant dollars to continue the progress of paving roads, while improving our town facilities.

The success of our team was confirmed recently by Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings, whose independent review of the town’s economy, budgeting, management, and finances resulted in Monroe’s rating upgrade to AAA, their highest score.

On Tuesday, please remember the strength of the Republican team when you cast your vote, and help me continue to move our town forward.

Ken Kellogg

Monroe First Selectman

Note: Ken Kellogg is running unopposed.
