NEW HAVEN, CT — Masuk swimmer Eva Helmke recorded her season-best time in the 50 yard freestyle event, winning her heat with a time of 24.74 at Sunday’s State Open Swim Championship at Yale University.
Masuk High’s standout also won her heat in the 100 freestyle event with a time of 55.06, Helmke placed 16th in the 50 and 17th in the 100. She scored a total of 20 points for the Panthers in the meet.
Kate Wittenauer scored 14 points for Masuk with her 13th place diving score of 378.80 in Middletown on Nov. 17.
