Amateur astronomer snaps photos of the bright comet Neowise

MONROE, CT — Dennis Cassia awoke early on Sunday morning and grabbed his Canon Power Shot Pro Camera to take pictures of Neowise, the brightest comet to shoot past Earth in 23 years.

Cassia, of Monroe, is an amateur astronomer and member of the Springfield Telescope Makers club in Springfield, Vt.

He rolled out of bed at 3:30 a.m. to capture the bright image of Neowise over the trees of his property.
