Police Reports: Thieves, a burglary, Shelton man really wanted a $7 refund

MONROE, CT — A stolen black Porsche SUV was used by thieves attempting to steal items from vehicles in Newtown and Monroe Monday. At approximately 5:35 p.m., a Trailside Drive resident called police to report seeing four teenagers, who arrived in a black Porsche SUV, pulling on car doors in his neighborhood. An officer responding to the call passed the Porsche heading south on Route 111, passing Masuk High School. Record breaking Masuk shot putter competes in New Englands, Nationals

The Nike Nationals in New York City and the New Balance Nationals in Boston featured star high school track and field athletes from all over the country earlier this month. Among them was Tristan Smith, 17, a Masuk High School senior who had also competed in the New England competition in Boston.
