Monroe police urge Renee Freer’s killer to come forward

MONROE, CT — Monroe police released new information to the public on the Renee Freer murder case Thursday and are encouraging the suspect and his family to come forward. Chief Keith White also reached out to members of the public to share any information they may know. Freer was eight-years-old when officers found her battered body  Williams Drive on June 22, 1977, and officers later found her battered body in a wooded area about 300 yards from her home. Masuk baseball team comes back to tame Tigers

MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s baseball team came back from a 4-1 deficit to defeat the visiting Ridgefield Tigers on Wednesday. Justin Feinstein pitched 5 2/3 innings for Masuk striking out 10, while allowing four hits and four runs (two earned). In the bottom of the sixth down 4-2, the Panthers tied the game when Steven Curtin hit a two-run single.
